Last weekend roughly 60 units of the fifth generation Honda Civic Type R arrived in Port Melbourne.
Honda Australia has stated that there have been over 350 dealer orders placed for the new Type R and another 6500 people have pre-registered their interest in purchasing the new hatchback.
A further 400 units are scheduled to roll into Honda Dealerships in Victoria, South Australia and the Northern Territory before the end of the year and are priced at $50, 990 before on-road costs.
The Civic Type R is powered by a 2.0-litre VTEC turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine and produces 228kW of power at 6500rpm. And let’s not forget about the 400Nm of torque between 2500-4500rpm in this 6-speed front wheel drive.
