Lister Cars surprised the social media community last week by announcing the release of what will be the world’s fastest SUV.

That’s right. Britain’s oldest racing car manufacturer and a long-time Jaguar tuner are planning to work on the F-Pace SVR and make it even more impressive.

The company posted a picture of heavily modified F-Pace, boasting a new front bumper design and what looks like much lighter alloy rims, plus an upgraded and larger brake. Lister’s photo shows the upcoming SUV sporting the brand’s signature colours of green and yellow.

To claim the world’s fastest SUV crown, Lister needs to beat the current king.

That is the 2019 Lamborghini Urus, which was released last February of this year. It has a 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 engine that produces 641 hp, 627 lb-ft of torque, and a top speed of 190 mph. Beating these numbers seems like a difficult feat. However, the current F-Pace SVR has some very good specs for Linder to begin with.

The 2019 Jaguar F-Pace SVR is equipped with a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine, which has an output of 550 hp, 502 lb-ft of torque and 176 mph top speed. If Linder’s version is indeed more lightweight, adding the company’s tuning prowess and a little tweak on aerodynamics will surely result to almost 200 mph top speed. Linder just needs to install extra cooling to contain this high speed. We expect the new SUV from Linder to have an engine that can produce way more than 600 hp to overcome Urus’ capabilities.

Earlier this year, Lister returned to the automotive market with the tuned-up Jaguar F-Type Thunder. The new Lister Thunder transformation enabled it to reach a top speed of more than 200 mph. With only 99 of this car to be produced, it is likely to be a collector’s item.
